Hi all,..
I'm not expecting a miracle here and I do accept it is a very long shot, (no pun intended, I prefer portrait lenses).
I wanted to VERY cheekily, but wholly respectfully, ask if anyone here would take a look at my portraits (taken with my trusty but somewhat limited Samsung NX11,
kitted out with an old Pentax Asahi Takumar 50mm f/1.4), to give you an idea what I can do, as well as to have a look at my Amazon.co.uk wishlist, here.

My philosophy is simple - "It's all in the eyes".
The aim of this message to you all, is hopefully to acquire a Nikon D800 with related kit so I can make the most of any free time I get over the next 18mths to compile a better portraits portfolio to show to potential employers after 18mths of therapy for Borderline Personality Disorder, (starts June 2014), ultimately to gain full time employment, (as freelance or as an employee).
I REALLY love photography; I studied it at Falmouth School of Arts from '93-'95 and I especially love portraits, but I am unemployed due to Borderline Personality Disorder. I'm about to start an 18mth course of Mentalisation Psychotherapy.
I am ok with people 1-2-1 but get me in a crowd and I'm completely zoned out, it's worse in a work environment - this is why I desperately need to put an end to this difficult, painful, pervasive and long-suffered social problem.
While this therapy is going on, I want to be doing something creative and productive with my photography skills. I want to create a better portfolio of portraits as well as landscapes of London.
I really do not want to be unoccupied during this 18mth time-frame; I wish to learn how to use the D800 so when I am ready, I will know how to use it for a profession.
This is very important to me.

This is very important to me.
Late last year, (Aug' to Nov'), I spent most of my Sundays down at Brick Lane Market here in London to get roughly 80 people's portraits - I want to do more with better equipment; namely with the use of a full-framed sensor camera with weather sealing, (if my NX11 gets wet, that's it, no camera and very possibly the lens may suffer irreparable damage too), a significantly better dynamic range, greater sharpness, speed and capabilities than my Samsung NX11.
I'd be open to either BORROW a Nikon D800, (with related kit), for these 18mths, returning it to you afterwards in return for some graphic design work, (mainly typography, but I'm no expert), or if someone here is feeling super generous, to buy me this camera and kit.
I'd be happy to meet you here in London, (publicly but quietly), if you wish to discuss with me, over a drink, my photography and the possibility of buying me or loaning this camera.
I would ultimately like to be doing portraits for a living, so to have this camera and the hands-on experience of using it during in this time would be a huge benefit in my search for paid work at the end, (or possibly even before the end), of the therapy.
I do not believe I'd get a job based solely on my current portfolio as much as I would if I had hands-on experience having used the D800 while creating new portraits etc.
I will make you a promise - if you get me all the kit that I have listed and I later get a photographic job as a result of the work I produce with it, I'll make arrangements to repay you the money spent on buying it for me.

I hope to hear from any of you soon, thank you.

A great artist I commissioned. Thanks Frans! :)
I recently commissioned Frans Mensink to do me a digital painting interpretation of a portrait I took of the lovely Chantelle
which I could use as an avatar ~FuckOffffff (https://www.deviantart.com/fuckoffffff) for my profile here on
and this is what he came up with
To say I'm impressed is an understatement! Frans, thank you! Money well spent!
